“An oak tree is a daily reminder that great things often have small beginnings.”
― Matshona Dhliwayo
This year brings unique challenges, but we are prepared to face them. One of our greatest assets in the fight with COVID-19 is that this is a small program. There is a maximum of 9 children per class, therefore, contact is much more limited than in elementary schools. Still, we are taking the threat of this disease seriously and planning precautions. A full description of our COVID-19 action plan can be found in this year’s parent manual.
Here are some brief demographic insights for the students at Mighty Oaks Preschool
- 14 students attended during the 2019-2020 school years
- All students who attended during 2019 and 2020 exclusively spoke English
- 11 out of 14 where white, three had one or more Hispanic parent
- 10 out of 14 had two parents who where in their twenties.
- 9 out of 14 had at least one parent in graduate school. 8 of those students had a parent attending Brigham Young University.
- Due to age and student status, most families in this program are considered to be in a demographically low income.
